HOW DO LASER FACIALS WORK?

Fibroblasts are cells located in the Dermis layer of the skin, responsible for generating connective tissue. Collagen is the primary structural protein produced by fibroblasts, keeping our skin looking tight and youthful. As we age, cellular activity begins to decline and collagen production decreases, resulting in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and decreased skin elasticity.
Furthermore, years of prolonged and unprotected sun exposure results in pigmentation, enlarged pores, and pre-mature ageing.

Laser Therapies excite Fibro last cells to start remodelling the collagen and elastin structures

What can I expect during my treatment?

Your initial consultation will address your skin type and concerns. During the consultation, undertake testing on inconspicuous patches of skin to set your treatment parameters. Eye protection will be provided and any excess makeup may be removed. The treatment is very quick and depending on size of treatment area, requires 5-10 minutes to complete. Upon completion, we will apply ASAP SPF 50+ sunscreen. After completion, your skin will feel fresh and smooth. Any pigmentation in your skin that was absorbed by the laser energy will go darker for 7-14 days before sloughing with natural skin cell turnover. A test patch will be performed so we can see how your skin reacts with the laser. This is for your safety and to ensure we give you the best clinical outcome.
